Solid construction..Best one out there..
Let’s start with the good….
Its solid, well constructed does the job..
Like that it raises and lowers with the water level…
There are no gaps in the net for the fry to escape or have it stretch out..
The frame has a raised lip on top to keep the fry from escaping.
This is an excellent constructed unit..
Now the not so good..
There is only one section cup securing it to the glass..
After reading another review, I just added 2 more suction cuos..
Perfect..
When you begin to assemble this unit.
Inspect all the parts. Take note of all the variations from one side to the other.
If your having a hard time connecting the parts, the tab into the open slot. you more then likely have the wrong side.
Double check and recheck.
When you think you have it right, check it again..
This is not an simple assembly.
If you’re not patient, and have a hard time figuring things out.
If you don’t have soft hands and you try to force it together.
You will break it…
This is not for you.
I gave a 5 star ð rating.
The assembly, id give 3 stars â
Its a real pain, if your not careful..

The Best New Breeder Box
This one is just about perfect! I had the first version- the frame that you have to stretch a cheap net bag over. It worked okay, but looked awful and collected aquarium gunk. You also had to hook it over the side- hard to do with an acrylic aquarium. This version comes with pre-netted pieces, so when you snap it together everything is snug and tight, no net gapping anywhere. It comes with one suction cup on a floating bar, and this I assumed I would have to replace- but no, it sticks like crazy. No issues whatsoever. This little box kept 30 platy babies safe for weeks- they all survived, no one escaped. It is also excellent as a “time-out” for a naughty fish, or one who is not feeling well.
The only issue I had was assembling it- it would seem to snap together, then fall apart in my hands. I was convinced that it wasn’t going to work, but if you take the time to sit down with it and really work each snapping point, you will be glad you did. Once you figure it out, it is very sturdy and will not come apart on you. I like the soft blue color as well- it was not such an eyesore in the tank. Such an improvement! Cleans up nicely too, with just a soft toothbrush and water.

Size
The size description on website is inaccurate. Website shows 1.5″L x 6.5W x 5.25″H. In reality it is much larger 6.75x 5.5 x 5.625.

Buy one where babies fall below the mother
Cheap, even if it’s $6. Learning from experience that you need a hatchery for babies to ho below the mom. Aside from that this is flimsy.

Cheap and not functional
Iâd rather pay more and get a quality product. Suction cups are worthless. Braces holding net together are really cheap and do not hold together.

Adjustable floating position
I like how it readjust itself to the level of water. The price is very affordable comparing to its quality and functionality.

Fits easily in both my 10 and 20 gallon aquariums.
Great for protecting fry.

Poorly built net
Leaving this review for those who are debating on this particular net.
I bought this in September right after discovering our fish had babies (unexpected).
Overall this net was not good and I’m sure there are better. It was pretty difficult to put together. Instructions did not help and the pieces didnât just snap in place. Once I finally got it together and in our tank, the suction cups were cheap and doesn’t hold it up too long. You will find it gradually dips below the water (to which we lost a few of our babies to the other fish). We were down to our last baby (roughly 2 months old at this point) and we were going to give them a few more weeks before feeling comfortable releasing them in the tank. To my surprise this morning I couldn’t find the baby fish. We eventually found it (dead) trapped between the screening that was poorly stitched to the breeding trap. I donât recommend buying this net!!!
Excellent choice. Made a bag of fries in 20 minutes. Great for a family of 4..with one basket full. I would call it easy fries. –
Works very well. 6 babies safe from bigger fish in the same tank.

A bit hard to assemble . Poor quality.
Only 1 small suction cup on the back so is.not strong enough to hold it in place .
Keeps sliding down .. …
Not recommended .

Very affordable and well built. Keeps new baby fish safe. Only issue is the suction cups wears out too quickly sinking the whole cage

No bottom separator for egg layers, but did the job for my guppies. Mesh is very fine, but if you feed your fry with baby brine shrimp, the get caught in the mesh and impossible to clean afterwards. Well, cleaned it with bleach…No problems assembling it, after careful studied the construction of the box. Suction cup was goo enough and it did not fail once

The product works great mesh, easy to assemble EXECPT for the suction cup that is very very weak My fry ended up being eaten as the suction cup give in overnight. ð
