Attractive shredder with unsafe bell
I absolutely love that it’s dye-free and all natural materials. The ring is just the right size for my parrotlet and she loves shredding the grass material. It’s been a big hit. I don’t know why Prevue advertises that these are bird-safe bells. The clapper has a cut through it, just to the side of the top, and is very easily removed. I removed it before giving it to my bird. The little hardwood cookie at the top, and the beads are pretty boring unless you’re a larger bird. And I imagine a larger bird would have the ring demolished in short order. So it’s a bit of a disconnect. I guess they’re just spacers. Still, replace these for balsa and put a bell that can’t be disassembled and it would be perfect.
