This is an edit to my original review due to dispensed portion size. It’s confusing in the app that it reads 1/12cups and I understood that to be 1 feed out of 12 cups, when I discovered, it’s actually 1/12th of a cup (ie: to dispense 1 cup of food, you need to do 12/12 cup manual feeds). Still kinds of wonky, but workable. I wish the hopper had multiple slots for dumping food. The portions are sporadic in quantity. The dual bowl splitter to separate the morsels to go into each dish is a gimmick and one dish always gets more than the other (despite changing the splitter positions). Setup was easy – like SUPER EASY! I ordered a different brand and got it the nite before I ordered this one. The other one was CHEAP and it wouldn’t connect after 2.5 hours of trying and married to a system tech so it wasn’t ‘user error’, hence the reason I decided to go with ‘the big rater’ out there and glad I did. The video quality is SUPERB!! live stream is amazing. Downside, you can either pay for a subscription to store videos and images, or buy an SD card. This isn’t disclosed until you’ve unpackaged it, set it up and are within the app when that page pops up. I have an SD card, and signed up for a subscription – I wasn’t totally ‘sure’ that all video’s would save on the card so played it safe.Sound quality is awesome and the nite vision is absolutely amazing. I wish the food tank was vacuum sealed like on another PetLibro model.All in All, I am super, super happy with this and it will allow me to have some peace while on my first vacation in 10 years. Husband will be home with the kitties, but I can’t ‘trust’ him that he’ll fill their bowls before he leaves for work in the morning or at nite before bed – sad really – so this will give me the ability to keep my babies fed and KNOW they’ll get food! Good feeder might not be worth it over the non-camera version
I recently purchased the PETLIBRO Automatic Cat Feeder equipped with a 1080P HD Camera. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:Pros:Consistency: The feeder has been working as expected and I’ve had no major functionality issues.Voice Recording: One of the highlights is the ability to record a personal message. It’s a thoughtful touch, making mealtime a bit more personal for my feline companions.Connectivity: The WiFi connection is robust. I haven’t experienced any disconnects, ensuring that I always have access to the camera and feeding features.Firmware Updates: The company seems to be proactive in addressing software glitches. I noticed improvements in movement recording after a recent firmware update.Cons:Food Dispensation: There seems to be a design oversight where the food tends to accumulate on one side near the output shoot. This once triggered a warning of a blockage, which could be a concern for potential buyers.Camera Quality: The camera quality is decent, but not exceptional. It’s adequate for monitoring, but if you’re expecting top-tier image quality, this might not meet your expectations.Price Point: Considering the additional features, I’m not sure if the price increase for the camera version provides enough value over the non-camera version.Trust Issues: It took some time for my cats to adjust to this new gadget. One of the main reasons I got this was to ensure they didn’t wake me up early in the morning for food. However, that habit hasn’t changed.App Update & Cloud Storage: While I appreciate software updates, the recent one seems to emphasize their cloud storage offering. It’s become somewhat inconvenient to access videos that aren’t on the cloud, which feels like a nudge towards a service I’m not particularly interested in.Final Thoughts:The PETLIBRO Automatic Cat Feeder with Camera does its primary job well, which is to feed. However, potential buyers might want to weigh the benefits of the camera feature against the price difference. While some features are commendable, there are areas of improvement that can enhance the overall user experience.3 month update: Still working well. Cats are now used to the feeder. So they come running when they hear the feeding announcement.

Having had this for 6 months I’m done with it. Overlay complicated controls compared to other units like this just annoy me and to top it off, it keeps saying error and not dispensing food. It’s got one job and can’t do that right. Looks, no substance
