Excellent ramp! But buyer bewareâ¦
First of all, this ramp is excellent quality! The problem is the product/condition that Amazon sent this ramp to me. The ramp was sent from Amazonâs warehouse and arrived in a large, unmarked, flimsy cardboard box that was beat to hell (and way bigger than it needed to be, and the pieces were thrown together in there with no protection whatsoever. So of course, it was damaged and broken. There were no assembly instructions in the box and the screws were thrown in a knock off ziplock bag with no tools.I bought this ramp NEW mind you. Paid full price for it, and yet it was pretty obvious they had sent me a damaged return that had most definitely been used before being ripped apart and sent back.I am still giving this item 5 stars because I do believe this is a fault on Amazonâs part, seeing as the order is fulfilled through an Amazon warehouse and not through the actual company, who was wonderful.I logged in to speak to customer service after receiving the damaged ramp, but Amazon only had an option to talk directly to the sellerâs company, so I was sent to the sellers website instead. (Turned out to be a blessing! Amazon customer service has gone downhill)I chatted with a customer service agent at PetSafe, who was very friendly, and he sent me out a replacement right away. I got a shipping email from fedex the next day and my replacement was delivered in a few days (order placed Friday, got it Monday! It was Easter weekend, so surprisingly fast)The replacement confirmed to me that Amazon had in fact sent me a returned item instead of a new one because the new one arrived in a branded box, all the pieces were shrink wrapped and protected, there were instructions, and a sealed bag with screws, washers, and little tools were included.Once I got the replacement, it was easy to put together! All the pieces were included and the ramp in very sturdy. It looks very nice, so it doesnât feel out of place in my home.I have 2 small dogs (15 pounds and 12 pounds) and they both took to the ramp pretty quickly and seem to like it. They donât slip at all going up or down and can get on and off the bed with no trouble now.In the end Iâm incredibly happy with my purchase and would recommend this bed ramp to anyone with pets!If Iâm in the the market for another ramp or something similar I will definitely purchase from PetSafe again (though I will be going through them directly instead of taking the gamble with Amazon)TL;DR : The ramp is excellent, but maybe buy it from the actual company (PetSafe) instead of Amazon. Then youâll be sure you are getting what you paid for.Photo 1: Some of the damaged pieces I received from Amazon and the weird baggie of screws I got.Photo 2: This is the box my replacement came in (from the company) so if you do order from Amazon make sure it comes in the actual product box so you know itâs new.Photo 3: The packaging, little tools, and pamphlets that came with my replacement from the company and were NOT included in the beat up package I got from Amazon.

Bought this for my elderly obese cat
I don’t usually write reviews, but after buying and assembling this ramp, I just had to chime in. First, it is a beautiful piece of furniture. Very sturdy, solid wood with cherry finish and good quality, low pile, light tan carpet. Second, I had no issues assembling the ramp that weren’t of my own making. Third, I got this done in one hour, by myself including the time it took to open the box and take all the pieces out and fix the couple of errors I made. Fourth, maybe because this was for my cat and not a dog, she had absolutely no problem climbing it. There was about 20 minutes where she was confused why her stairs were missing and why this big thing was there in its place, but I did what others recommended and put treats along the ramp, and it took minutes for her to get the idea. It’s now been one day and she has gone up and down it at least a dozen times with no issue and NO SLIPPING OR SLIDING. Now, to address the assembly complaints. The pre drilled holes are not just holes. They have metal threads in them already. So there is no forgiveness. When I started to put it together, I was having trouble getting the legs attached to the top piece (which is the first step). But I was patient and finageled the holes and screws to match. Then I went to attach the legs to the middle piece (which is the second step) and none of the holes matched. I was thinking “oh no, all those reviews were right and the holes don’t match!” But I took a breath and looked real closely at the picture in the directions, and I realized that I had the legs going the wrong way. So I disassembled it and switched the legs and the holes all matched as they were supposed to. To be clear, because the threads are already in the wood, there is no margin for error. What is crucial to do is not tighten the screws until you have them all in their respective holes. I needed just that tiny bit of wiggle room in order to get all the screws aligned with their holes. That was especially true of the braces on the back of the ramp. Once all the screws were in the holes for a particular step, then I went back and tightened them. And once the whole ramp was completed, I went back and tightened the screws one last time. I am thrilled with this ramp! I am now thinking of buying another for the living room because my cat can’t get up and down her favorite cat perch anymore and the ramp would solve that problem and look good too.

If your dog is afraid of things that wobble and shake, this is stable enough for them to use without being afraid.

Works perfect for both our Scotties who are 25 and 35 lbs. They have no problem with traction on the carpet as some people mentioned. It assembled fairly easily and is a beautiful and sturdy piece of furniture. One of our little guys had surgery to remove a liver tumor and he was happy enough in his crate the first 2 or 3 nights, but as he started feeling better and regaining his energy, he wanted to sleep in the bed with us again. Problem is, he’s used to getting up and down by himself in the middle of the night if he gets too hot, so I couldn’t risk him jumping off and tearing his staples. It was breaking my heart to lock him in his crate at that point, so I jumped online the fourth night and ordered this ramp. With Prime it arrived two days later, and it was exactly what we needed! He took to it like a duck in water and was able to get up and down without a hitch. We’ve had it over two months now, it works great and we’ll continue using it since our other boy has joint problems and was starting to find it more difficult to get on the bed.

We have tried all kinds of steps and stairs to allow our Chihuahua to go up and down to our king size bed. Everything we tried did not work because the steep angle of the steps was frightening for him to go down. I finally constructed from empty plastic containers covered with carpet something that allowed me to extend the length and therefore having a decent angle without being too steep for him to climb up and down. However, assembling over 6 boxes every night and taking them down every morning was a chore on top of the fact that he used to wake us up with the noise every time he went up or down. When I found this ramp in Amazon, saw the specifications (70 inches in length) with carpet and made out of sturdy wood, I knew we had found the ideal solution to our problem. This ramp is made very sturdy, high quality, well finished worth every penny. It takes some patience to put it together, since the bolts have to align perfectly to tighten them in place. The only improvement that would be ideal is if the legs would de collapsible or easily removable so as to allow us to put away the ramp easily in a closet. Because of this, the ramp has to stay permanently in place since it is quite cumbersome to move it with the legs attached. So I added wheels! Other than this, it is a fantastic solution for people that have pets that share your bed with you and are too small to jump onto the bed. I will recommend it highly, if you have the room to leave it beside the bed.

The ramp arrived yesterday and itâs already a hit. It was easy to assemble since there arenât that many parts, although the bolts are a bit short. This is a very sturdy ramp. Our two13 year old Cotons, one of whom has cancer, figured it out in no time and have been using it all day. It does take up a fair amount of space. We placed ours at the bottom of our queen sized bed even though the ramp is about 8â wider. It would be perfect for a king size. I would buy this again in a heartbeat…no more lifting dogs onto the bed and now they can come and go at will.
