Great once installed
Was quite a pain to get installed in the same placement as our old door of the same size from the same manufacturer but not the 3 layer.Had to drill some holes on the sides of the hole in my door.love the more sturdy construction! The edges curve to go flush with the door, the screws are metal (comes with plastic ones too but I hated them in the old one so opted for the sturdier seeming metal), the 3 layers all work well and seem to insulate more effectively while still being functional for my dogs.My 2 30 lb dogs almost immediately got used to the change, My 10 lb dog was definitely more hesitant and still sometimes just barks on the outside of it as if he canât get through, but he can and is fine lolThe cover/closure is so much more functional than the old snap on covers! Love the slide! I can take it off with just a slight tug and lift which would have come in handy after I got hand surgery before the replacement and had a heck of a time getting the old one off lolOverall, sooo happy with this!

Worth it
Install instructions were clear and easy to read. Hardest part of the process was getting the door pins out (a friend helping out makes it so much easier) Flap does a good job preventing outside air coming in/inside air going out. It will take a little time to get your animals use to using it though, they seem to be skidding of the magnetic snapping sound

Works well
I’m super happy to allow my dog to have some self-reliant freedom! I struggled installing it – matching the screws through the door. It also took some tweaking to get the door to close after he would use it vs staying propped open.

Seems sturdy, one suggestion for installation
I like the quality, although my dog still isn’t used to using it. I think if it was clear like our other dog door she would have a much easier time, as she seems to go out when I lift the flap. For installation, at least in a metal door, I would recommend putting both sides together and drill the screw holes from both sides rather than try to drill straight through. I never could get the screws to line up with the holes on the outside until I made them wider. If I had just drilled also from the outside then I think it would have worked better. This may not be easier on other for types but for me on a metal exterior door that would be my recommendation.

Perfect fit
Complete package, every thing you need is in the box. The template is accurate but my jig saw blade leaned a bit so I needed make a correction.Very important have and accurate cut as the template is very true. I like the nylon screws for fitting, nice touch. Looks great, I painted the cover white to match the door and frame. Recommend this.

3-flap door happiness
My boys had chewed the old bi-flap door into pieces. This door is a life changer. I’m no longer wearing 4 layers of winter clothing inside the house. My heat doesn’t stay on 24×7 and the reduction in dust is a lifesaver. It’s now possible to dust every few days. Once the knick knacks get dusted then I’ll feel better too.

We had replaced our exterior back door and had the door company install this dog door so can’t comment on the installation process but the door itself is great quality and works very well. This is the first time our dog has had a dog door and it’s been a huge improvement to her quality of life. She uses it all day every day and has taken control of her outside time. It’s one of the best things we’ve purchased. I did a lot of research before buying this door and I like that it’s metal framed, insulated, and locks easily and tight. We’ve had it for about 4 months now and no issues at all. Every 6 weeks or so I need to adjust the flap screws to bring the door flap up a few millimeters but I expected that and it’s really simple to do. The insulation layer is effective and doesn’t impede the door at all. We get a bit more dirty paw prints on the floor when it’s raining outside but that’s just the compromise with having a dog door. Installed in winter at approx -20C and no drafts, just had a few days of +30C and no heat coming in either so really pleased overall.

Firstly I want to address a couple of the negatives..The one about it not clearly stating the door thickness and having to buy the extension adapter…it very clearly states “Easily fits into panelled, wood, PVC and metal doors 3.75-5cm”That person clearly hadn’t bothered to read the full description.Another one complaining about being able to see light down the sides…that is where the brush bars meet the rubber flaps, they help keep the draft out…if you want double glazing standard, then teach your dog how to use a door handle…they’ve clearly never had a proper draft rattler pet door that blows the Beast From the East through your door and up your leg in the sitting room…seriously, I soooo appreciate how draft proof this one is!The one about “the mount for the 2 of the flaps blocks the frames from clicking together”…well, firstly they don’t block anything, and secondly they don’t “click” together, one is very slightly bigger than they other so they very smoothly slide in to each other giving a nice smooth surround to the whole thing, makes it much easier to clean too with muddy dogs.I fitted this very easily on my own in about 30-40 minutes, it only took that long as I struggle with fiddly screws. The instruction are very clear and easy to follow.I absolutely love the padded middle flap, that really does make a difference and helps to keep the rubber flaps apart snd connecting to their own magnets…oh yes, this has 2 sets of magnets, unlike the conventional 1 middle one, this is a game changer as once the two flaps lock in, there is minimal…and I really do mean absolute minimal, draft coming through.I’ve had years of many different pet flaps, currently 7 furry beasts, and this is by far the best one.I think I got it on a good deal, I paid £47.62 for the medium flap and £10.91 for the medium adapter as my door panel is a standard 28mm, you DO need that extra adapter as you can’t fudge it to fit if your panel is not thick enough…it has to be between 3.75-5cm to not need the adapter. We are currently at -4 here is freezing cold Chester, UK and I can barely feel anything from the flap, in fact I can’t feel any draft, just a little colder due to the aluminium frame…really can’t ask.for more than that.So all in all, I definitely recommend this, so much so I went back and bought another ready to put in the extension.

USE: Got this product for my 7 cats. This was a good investment, all the cats make use of this tiny door. After helping my cats just a few times they got the hang of it. INSTALLATION: It was easy to fit into the door, you do need a drill and a Jigsaw. QUALITY: Got this door 2 months ago and it works like a charm. The material looks and feels solid and durable. No draft because of the extra isolation.

This is a well made sturdy door flap that works well.It was not that easy to fit because of our door style, we had to pad out around the cut out so that the flap came out enough to allow the door flap shutter to slide in from the top and secure at night. The white plastic screws in the pack seemed flimsy but in use we realised they are slightly flexible which meant it was a lot easier to line up and secure. There were also metal screws for fitting the outer panel, I do see why the other screws are plastic and the door is very secure with them.Dog loves it and is in and out all day long and we dont have to be constantly getting up and down letting him out.Im glad we went for the metal version and the thermal flap, our dog does like to dash though the flap taking his toys with him occasionally which could have been an issue for a plastic flap.We chose not to take the door off to fit which made it more difficult it was much easier with two people helping to line things up.There are adjustment screws to allow the movement of the individual flaps on both sides to make sure it closes well, ours is closing fairly well but we will probably adjust slightly to make it perfect, meantime it does keep out any drafts and no colder than it was in the room. Thumbs up from us 🙂
