It works!
I like the fact that it came with a bit of tackle. However, the reel is not the easiest to cast for my 6-year old daughter. Even if I cast it for her, it just doesnât seem to go far enough. Works fine if youâre just dropping the line to fish bluegills off a dock or on a pond, which does make it a good pole for a kid.

Piece of Junk
I’m updating this now, as it’s the first opportunity I have had to use the product. This reel is junk. It came with the line wrapped around itself and the drag pinion underneath the spinner head assembly. I had to unwind several feet of line to finally get it free. The trigger did not work at all. It just toggled in and out freely, without releasing the line. The pin on the spinner head assembly is supposed to have a pin that catches the line as it spins to reel the line in. That pin was pushed completely into the spinner head assembly, and is rolling around loose in there. It would require completely disassembling the reel to even attempt to get it working properly, and this reel isn’t worth my time. This was a poorly made, worthless hunk of plastic.

Not what i expected
It came in timely manner. Was expecting a closed reel not a open face. My mistake. Have used it a couple of times, does work good after respooling the string. Didn’t cast out very far, does now. The eyelet on one of the sections came apart, did not take much to put it back together. Have not caught anything large on it yet just some bluegill. Not bad for the price. Love the color, my grandkids can find me now. Like it also cause it can retract & i can put it in my bucket for easy carrying and storage.

The fishing reel displayed on the picture is not the same as what’s in the case. The cover picture shows a reel where spool is totally covered. The reel inside the caring case is open face where you can see the spool and interact with it not great for a child.
