Quiet filter, but tank gets hot
Overall a great product for the price, but the filter has a few drawbacks. The filter is completely silent and that was what I was looking for primarily. The filter does get hot though; my house is set at 78 degrees in the summer and the tank still warmed up to 84-85 degrees just based on how warm the pump gets. I unplug it occasionally to let the temperature drop. As you will see in other reviews, the water blower on the side is strong enough to push the fish around in this little tank. You can cap off the blower without damaging the pump, or, you can put a fake plant in the tank and point the blower at it to disperse the stream.

was good for about a month
Bought 2. One for us and one for our daughter. The suction on the filtering system is not a very good one. Tray for the filter pad is built in as part of tank frame and that’s not such a good feature for it and can’t buy the little filter pads so had to find something to use for that. Our daughter’s tank – she woke up this morning and it had cracked oddly in the middle of the glass and water was draining out. It hadn’t even lasted a month after being bought. Won’t buy this again. Not a good product.

After researching all 5-10 gallon tanks for hours, this is the best by far
It is the perfect aquarium for this size range. Absolutely looks and feels like it is real glass (disagree with other reviewer) and is super clear with beautiful rounded corners. The integral opaque top with light is much better than the competing name-brand rounded glass corner aquariums because the light is only inside the water and not bouncing off some added top glass into the room. The bottom joint is beautiful and not just a sloppy silicone seam like the competitor rounded corner tanks. Pump is quiet and works great. Light is good. I planted micro sword so I removed the original light and installed a 10 W brighter light for them for $10 (double sided foam tape to the inside of the top) , but is not required. I also put in a heater for $10. I put in a 20 lb bag of Eco-Complete Planted Aquarium Substrate as a deep substrate gravel bottom to reduce need for water changes. It is a very well thought out aquarium. We have 5 neon tetra and 1 betta fish. Everyone in the tank looks happy.

Itâs okay, but not the best.
This tank is OK for the price, but I have a few issues with the design. First, the lid does not come completely off as advertised in the description. This makes the tank a little bit more challenging. And I only have about 2 inches diameter to fit in objects. Itâs pretty quiet and the light looks nice but it doesnât produce much heat so youâll still need a heater. Just as with some of the other reviews, the directions werenât the best, but anyone with half a brain could figure it out based on the photos. The air pump came kinked in a few places. It still works fine but I worry about the longevity of this product.UPDATE: DO NOT BUY THIS. IT LASTED 4 MONTHS AND NOW ITS DEAD, THE PUMP STOPPED WORKING

Adorable but such an impractical design. Pump and lights also prone to failure
Pros: Adorable. Glass. Curved edges. Built in lights and pump for filter and aeration.Cons: Narrow opening and non removeable filter setup makes maintenance difficult. Pump is too strong for a betta. Pump and lights both prone to failure within months. The “built in” features do not make this tank any easier to maintain, only harder.Cheaper Price = bigger pain. If Budget is not an issue, I recommend the Fluval Spec III 2.6 aquarium. I don’t know why they call it 2.6 because it is actually over 3.5 gallons. The filter also needs a sponge modification to be suitable for a betta or else only turn the filter on for short periods to prevent overly stressing the fish.I have 4 of these Pondon tanks in 1.7, 2 and 3 gallons. It’s been about 6 months since I bought the first one. The opening to the tank is very small, you can barely fit your hand in to set plants or decorations. The plastic molding for the filter pad is built in. They need to redesign so it lifts out because apart from decorating, it makes water changes and maintenance very difficult. I went up in size every time I reordered, hoping the extra space would be more manageable. Naturally the 3 gallon is the easiest to work with and is the only one I would ever recommend. All of my tanks are planted so I can’t just take the whole thing to a tub and blast water in to clean it, but it’s too small to maneuver a siphon around inside. I have to fill the tube with water from the sink then try to block the end and flip it quick so it doesn’t loose it’s prime. The tanks have such a small opening that it takes a few tries to get he siphon working. The tank needs a deeper base dimension so you can get your hand inside at any angle.I also should have waited some time before reordering. If I had waited, I might have realized that the pumps and lights tend to quit after a few months. Of the 4 tanks, only 2 still have working lights, and only one pump is still working but the hum has been getting louder for weeks so I expect that one to fail soon too. Another pump still moves water through the air regulator but isn’t strong enough to drip onto the filter pad.The pump siphon has an open bottom that is supposed to sit under the substrate. This hides it and slows the intake, however the filter output is too strong for a betta, which is about the only fish appropriate for a tank this size. The intake also sucks up sand so I don’t recommend sand as a substrate in these. I tried to modify some with sponge filters around the intake to slow the filter and leave the sand out, which seemed to help but those pumps ultimately failed anyway.

Nice Desktop Aquarium
Pros: Quiet, compact, easy-ish to assemble (more below)Cons: Lid does not stay open easily after assembly, filter flow is slightly too powerful for bettaComments: Overall, the tank was easy to assemble and instructions were pretty clear. The red, white, blue lights really make my bettaâs colors vibrant; which I love. However, the piece that goes where the air flows in to the tank from the pump was IMPOSSIBLE to put on. This could be partly why the flow/current is so strong. My betta seems to understand to go around the current, but it took him a few times of being whisked away before he learned.I would also recommend lowering the air valve intake, as that made my filter SOOOO much quieter.I have only had this product for a short time, so time will tell if the filter holds up.

The filter is terrible – it doesnât work well, there is no waterfall!

Contrary to the description and the pictures, this aquarium is not made of glass. It seems acrylic. Also, there are some cable management issues due to the UK plug being too big for the design. It seems to have been only designed for other smaller plugs causing the water pump to tilt. Looks and feels flimsy.
