Perfect for short trips with gerbils!
This bag is the perfect size for me to carry my gerbils in. They have been having a good time traveling in the car with me. I try to take them out for a ride on the weekends. They love it. We sit at the park and watch the birds fly around. I love that the front is clear so they can sit and bird watch with me. People often stop by to take a peak at them. They love this carrying case.

Don’t recommend for your hamster. My daughter’s hamster LOVES the sand bath that came with the back pack. The issue is the mesh. It was in perfect condition, but it took my daughter’s hamster 5 minutes before he chewed through the breathable mesh. The ventilation was great, but it sadly didn’t last long and now the back pack is not usable. But the sand bath is going to get some great use in the hamsters cage.

I had thought this was for a hamster for some reason..I guess because I thought the guinea was a hamster on the picture. so it wouldn’t work for my pet mouse..the holes are so large they would walk right out of it..but I used it for one of my snapping turtles and he loved it..he loved getting out for the day and looking around as I did my errands and shopping…I put a thick towel down for comfort and the holes are large enough to give fresh air..fun for pets and keeps bonding alive with parent and pet

This backpack is easy to carry your special critter in. It has great ventilation on sides and extra holes on front. The straps are padded and thick, very comfortable to wear. The bottom piece is a tab bit too large (as seen in pic) and does cause a gap in base which I’ll have to put a blanket or something in to avoid injury of small pet. However, our little critter did great and seemed to enjoy getting out. (For size reference this a large Syrian hamster)

I have one of these types of backpacks for my bird and love it. I was excited to see one I could put my Guinea pigs in. I have 2 girls. It would be a tight fit for both girls to fit in the backpack. They are used to huddling together and to take them to the vet or when transporting them, I think it would be fine. For long trips, you may want two backpacks. I think it would also be a great way to get them outside for some fresh air but they would need a place to hide because they are a prey animal and being exposed would be a huge stress for them. There is space in the backpack to put a small hide or soft tunnel.
