Not break away. Not safe for kittens
These were advertised as breakaway collars. They are not breakaway at all. They have a buckle close that’s actually really tricky to open and close because of its small size. The collars themselves are very beautiful so I gave it 2 stars even tho I wanted to give it zero. I have very young kittens who are into everything and they need a safe collar that will open if they get caught on something and are hanging. I am so sad because these are the exact pattern and colors I was looking for.

The collars work well, we go through several a year, this is because they are break away collars. This is huge for us because if they did not come home without a collar they would potentially not come home at all because they were hung up in the woods.

This collar is absolutely NOT a breakaway, I wish Iâd read the reviews before buying it, because the product description is incredibly misleading. Itâs also fairly cheaply made, with already peeling vinyl when it arrived. I pulled quite hard and it never broke apart, so if you plan on using this for a cat it poses a very real and serious risk of allowing them to accidentally strangle themself should their collar get caught in something. My cats are indoor cats but I still prefer breakaway collars as they can get into mischief and I want to be sure theyâre always safe. I would rate it 3 or 4 stars otherwise, but the misleading nature of the listing makes this a one star item for me, and I would recommend purchasing a different collar, as this style is a dime a dozen and you can probably find a similarly priced one that will protect your cat on Amazon.
