Perfect Boredom Buster
Two years ago, I caved and bought a horse for my equestrian daughter. Since then, this horse has been the bain of my existence. Among other issues, he kept kicking in his stall and either breaking boards or pulling shoes, and our trainer was getting fed up. Bought this because Iâm willing to try anything to get this baby horse to behave. He loves it! Itâs much larger than I thought it would be and he happily munches and bats it around in his stall. He still kicks occasionally, but itâs been hugely helpful for stimulation when he canât be turned out due to weather.

Love!
My horses love these balls. They make them eat slower and they enjoy âplaying with their foodâ. Them fit a good size flake well!

Works well for slow eaters
This ball is simple enough to fill but my horse empties it very quickly. I wish there were smaller holes for the hay to come out so it lasted longer than 5 minutes. My horse is a fast eater.

I didnât think they would play with it but they love it when I put hay in it!

Great slow feeder toy, better than you’d expect
I was super skeptical about this, but I had a bored horse on stall rest, so I thought why not. I had worried he wouldn’t be able to get the hay out of it, like maybe it would need chopped hay or very soft alfalfa or something. But he was very determined and he would completely empty it between one day and the next. Now whenever he sees it coming out, he really perks up.I have only put alfalfa hay in here, but I’ve put stemmy hay and soft hay and everything in between, and he always got it out. And it did take a while, too, so this is both a slow feeder and a horse toy. And since it’s feeding hay, not treats, you really could use it for weight and sugar control. There is one hole that has a lid that unscrews. You open this to put the hay in (or to get it out, after the ball rolls into the pond and the hay turns icky). It’s fairly easy to use this to hose it out, too. Not super easy, but fairly easy. If this hole were half again as big, it would be a lot easier to put hay into the ball (as it is, you have to just put it in by the handful) and to clean it out when needed. This ball is about 2-3 times the size of a treats dispensing ball, if you have one of those. The only downside, as alluded to above, is if you have a pond this toy will eventually end up in it. It does float, though, at least at first. You can use your manure rake to fish it out LOL.
