Great little tank. The filter works great and the light is bright. I really like the molded sides. The lid is a little flimsy but not an issue for me. It’s the perfect size for my betta Frank, he seems to be happy. I did purchase a heater for it to keep my boy safe and happy.

Great starter tank for someone getting into aquariums.
I have had multiple fish tanks over the years, and this is a pretty decent fish thank with great lighting for the money. The instructions were non-existent for setup, so you do have to figure a few things out if you have never had a fish tank with filter before. As with all filters make sure you rinse the cotton filter out under the sink before installing or your water could be cloudy even without adding fish. I forgot to do that at first so good thing I let it run for 3 days before getting fish to put in. Once I did a water change and let it run again for couple days before adding my betta it worked great, and water was clear.

Great Starter Kit, and yes, it’s Glass
I used to be a water quality engineer and worked at a Bioassay lab, where we grew thousands of fish in dozens of aquariums for EPA testing every week. So I’ve had my share of tanks of various sizes and complexity.This is an excellent glass wall, starter aquarium for a great price. I’m really impressed with the bent-glass corners, which provide line-less views of the front of the tank. Adding to the aesthetics is the integrated hinged lid which conceals the lamp and filter media.Using a measuring cup and stop watch, I measured the pump flow at an amazing 3 liters/minute, even when the water level (i.e. lift height) was below half the tank height. That’s an excellent flow rate for a tank this small.To address the comment that the pump wasn’t working, that’s because their tank was only half full, and they didn’t prime the pump, which is required for any aquarium pump. You need to fully submerge a water pump before it will begin pumping, but it will then continue pumping even if the water level (lift height) drops all the way to the bottom inlet.This pump also has 3 outlets: The main outlet feeds through an elbow into the filter media at the top of the tank, plus there are 2 lower outlets on the side, which are plugged for future use. The pump is powerful enough to be able to open the lower ports and still have enough pressure to flow water into the filter media at the top.The lid includes an LED puck light, which has both white and blue LEDs to provide a bright blue light into the water. The switch is located on the top of the lid and is a mechanical push button, which means you can leave the switch turned on and put the light on an external timer.

Nice glass starter aquarium
My wife thought this would be a great starter aquarium for our grandkids to try something different from their 1-gallon beta fishbowl that they’ve had for a long time. It was pretty easy to set up except for the lid being a bit flimsy. It can easily pop off of its rim and can be cumbersome to get it reattached. The lid also doesn’t stay up very well once the wires are popped into the slots that they need to go into to allow the lid to close completely, so keeping it propped open while cleaning can be tricky. The filter tube is pretty ugly (our granddaughter calls it the microphone because that is what it looks like), but we put a large plant in front of it to hide it. Tested everything out and it’s working well and is very quiet.
