Used all summer
Used this setup all summer to learn how to for fish. Great value! Functions flawlessly. Itâs not very easy to fly fish but this got me going strong! Size and weight were perfect!

Great quality for a cheap setup!
I can’t speak to a $500-1000 fly rod setup because I don’t own anything like that… I never will. I can fish with anything as long as it works reasonably well, and this does just that. An expensive rod doesn’t make you a better fisherman, but if you have a rod that works and know what you’re doing then you’re going to catch just as many… This is a cheap setup, no doubt, but for what it is, it checks all the boxes. The quality is fine, it has essentially everything you need to get started, and it’s just overall a really good deal… I’d say beginner level for sure, but anyone could use this regardless of experience, and I imagine would be happy with it.

For a starter kit itâs not bad
Pretty decent little starter kit. The flies are absolute garbage and I would not recommend getting a breakdown pole. Just get a solid pole. The breakdown seemed to be a little bit more of a hassle, but I mean it does work so for a first time set up, not bad

WANT AN EXPERT OPINIONâ¦.
Then I canât really do much for you. Although Iâm a lifelong fisherman, I never actually picked up a fly rod. Didnât actually have much reason to given where I am located, but always found it intriguing. This, from my understanding and from the online reviews, is a FULL FLY FISHING SET. I LOVE the reel, itâs exceedingly sleek, and the CNC milling is FLAWLESS. They include the various kinds of line that are to be attached in series to make the ideal line to throw out. There are even multiple flies to get you started. Everything ultimately fits into a convenient fling bag, custom made for this set. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

To be honest I donât know Joe Diddly about fly fishing just some faded memories of my dad fishing in the Yellowstone in the mid 90s. Got this as an affordable way to teach myself without going in deep with a bunch of expensive gear. Comes in a great carry case with a little extra storage available for what you’d like to add to make it your own. Looking over what arrived Iâm pleased everything looks to be quality stuff. No flaws that I can find. Canât wait to watch a bunch of how to videos and hit the water! ð£

Cheap did not cast
Do not buy this. Donât spend the money. I have been fishing for 40 years and I wanted to grab a quick combo that could be easily packed. The reels are cheap. They barely cast. They are mostly plastic. I did my best to return this but I was on a 3 week fishing trip, hence having the set. The window closed and now the company wonât take it back. Do not buy. Do not waste money.

Great Reel, Solid Line, Rod broke at tip on first cast.
The reel alone is worth the price of the combo. An ultralight aluminum disk drag reel with line will cost about $50 all day. For this. . . The combo is worth it.The rod. . . . Well I went to make my first haul, I was textung the rod and it’s action, and snap!!! Right where the bottom 2 pieces and the top two pieces meet. There was no, “Let’s glue this or lets jam a stick in too so it’s tighter fitting.It was a full on Snap and it happened directly in the connection section where not much, if anything, could help it.I don’t feel jipped because the rod broke. I honestly feel like I get my $55 worth in the reel and lime. Plus, I will never buy another 4 piece rod again. 3, probably, but I live for my pieced together rod of bliss. . .- The bottom half of my rod is a 9′ Five Weight, Old Orvis of IM6.- My top half is a Six Weight, W.W. Grigg, (A smaller Hood River Company), Six Weight that’s also IM6.***I tested a few rods with IM8 blanks and I couldn’t tell the difference between them and my IM6 rods.

Great Setup for the Beginner Fly Fishing
If you have been interested in starting to fly fish, (which is wonderful I might add). This setup will get you started in this wonderful sport. It is the perfect set up, not too much, the basics to get that fly fishing bug started in you. Everything you need from a nice for piece pole, some flies, line etc. I got this one for my grandson, and he loves it. He gets excited now when we go out fishing, and is learning fast with this setup. And it all comes contained in a very nice case.
