Will it work? Yes.
The base guide is not in line with the reel, the fit between the base of rod and tip are extremely snug to which the tip cannot be removed or even re-aligned. The guides on the MH tip are not in the right spots (the second from the bottom is taller than the previous guide and then the next guide is right up against the pole). Overall the pole and reel did perform very well, the casting distance was a step up to my 5.9â pole.

This Sougayilang Fishing Rod and Reel Combo, Medium Fishing Pole with Spinning Reel, and Baitcaster Fishing Rod are Awesome! It comes in a very thin package as you can see but it is the perfect size for the product! Now thatâs just the packaging! The rod itself comes with a sleeve, where you can store your rod, rather than have it out getting wet or possibly collecting dust! It is super easy to assemble, and the assembly process itself is extremely fun to watch it come together! If you twist the main portion of the rod, at the base near where the cork piece is, it will loosen a piece of the rod, where you then place the reel in and tighten, and itâs done!! Such a beautiful design and extremely high-quality material! It comes with 2 similar pieces, which are just for specific fishes and what you want to catch! They are basically what the pole can withstand and the type of fish itâs meant for which is really awesome! Absolutely love this Fishing Pole!

Very Nice Rod with an Adequate Spinning Reel
Sougayilangâs medium / medium-heavy power spinning rod and reel combo has a very nice rod and an adequate reel. I selected the 6.9-ft length. The rod comes with two tips: a medium power tip and a medium-heavy tip. The combo comes in three color variations: black with red accents, or black with blue accents, or solid blue. In my opinion, the blue shade used in the blue options is somewhat off putting, but the red option is very classy.The rod has a sensitive carbon fiber blank with a split grip and handle made of black foam. Both the front end and the butt of the handle are terminated with cork with the internal edges of the split grip transitioned from the rod blank to the black foam by nicely executed windings. The rod has a hook keeper, and all the rodâs specifications are printed on the handle section. The two tips are fast action and marked with âMâ and âMHâ on the tipâs ferrule. The rod comes with a cloth sleeve to hold the sections.The reel isnât my favorite. However, it did cast and retrieve smoothly. I consider the handleâs knob, which is a lightweight plastic spinner type, to be a disaster. The nut that keeps the knob together keeps coming loose, with a danger of losing parts. The auto-bail is chunky; however, the anti-reverse and drag works well.This rod and reel combo is a very fishable setup, that is both versatile, and a reasonable value.

Reel breaks
First day using it the handle on the reel snapped right off. Had to land the fish by pulling the line in by hand.

Good beginner’s pole
I bought two for my grandkids. I’m happy with the poles. The action is light enough for them. I did have to replace the line. However, I’m not surprised. Line spooled up to long or line to old tends to never straighten out. It lies like a coil spring when cast. I have no idea how long the original line has been on the spool. It’s minor point to me. I spent about $5.00 between the two reels and have line left over.

Excellent rod, Decent reel
Update: I reached out to the seller and realized the original reel was bad, but they sent me a new one and this one is much better. I am really liking this combo, and paired up with a quality braid this is a good combo for pretty much any style of fishing. I do believe the rod alone is worth the cost and I still like the different tip actions. I am tempted to use the rod on one of my higher end reels but for the price this is a solid combo and the company cares about their customers.I got this for a discount and decided to keep it for the rod. I put 15lb braid (4lb diameter) on the reel. The reels drag is inconsistent and the reel itself is not too smooth. Pulling a rattle trap felt heavy. Maybe a got a bad one. The rod seems pretty decent so far and it comes with two top halves. One is medium action the other is medium heavy. Thatâs a neat feature. The cork handle feels a little fake/foamy. My final complaint is the rod grip is pretty thick, which I actually like cause I have bigger hands but the reel bail will sometimes hit my knuckles. I think Iâm gonna swap the reel and hope that solves the issue.
