Weaning Puppies
What is this?
Weaning describes the transition of the puppy’s diet from its mother’s milk to the solid growth diet of puppyhoodTips: For the first few weeks of their lives, newborn puppies depend on their mother’s milk for nourishment and survival. Not only does it provide the essential nutrients for growth and development, it also helps protect young pups health.
When do I do it?
Giant breeds, 3.5 weeksLarge breeds, by 4 weeksSmall breeds, depends on size but most at 5 to 6 weeksTips: To start weaning, you will remove the mother from the puppies for an hour, 2 to 3 times a day, to try eating solid food
How to Wean Puppies?
Step 1: Make a Gruel
Make a gruel of canned or dry puppy food mixed with puppy milk replacer or water. Look for a well-known, name-brand puppy food that is not grain-free. Ideally use the same brand of food that the mother dog eats
Step 2: Offer the Gruel to the Puppies
During the hour long periods where you separate the puppies from their mother, offer them the gruel in our puppy feeding bowl. Place the puppies in front of it
If the puppies do not seem interested, try dipping your finger in it and then touching their mouths so they can taste it. They may get messy in the process of exploring this new food
Step 3: Gradually Increase the Amount of Solid Food
When you’re beginning the weaning process, the puppies’ diet should consist of only 10% solid food. The gruel should be transitioned to less liquid and more solid until the puppies are able to eat the canned or dry food without diluting it. Then, you should gradually increase the amount each week until their diet is 100% solid food by the time they reach 7 or 8 weeks of age

Material Matters: A bowl is just a bowl, right? Sadly, that’s not the case. Most pet food bowls are made from stainless steel, plastic, ceramic. Plastic is the worst option which contain chemicals that could disrupt your puppies. Apart from that, plastic accumulates deep scratches that harbor insanitary things and can be hard to clean. Ceramic is heavier and far less durable. One drop or bang can chip, crack, or shatter your ceramic bowl, making it no longer safe for use
Considerate & Convenient Design: This puppy weaning dish is perfect for young puppies to share their food or water. With a sturdy stainless steel construction the bowl is sturdy and dishwasher safe. The raised center helps to ensure puppies do not walk or sit on the bowl and the low rim makes feeding time much easier and helps keep puppies cleaner
Easy to Clean & Dishwasher Safe: Dog bowls made out of stainless steel can easily be cleaned with mild dish soap and warm water. In addition, they are also dishwasher safe, making for easy cleanup
Stackable Design for Easy Storage or Travel: With a considerate and convenient design, these puppy weaning bowls stack easily inside one another for easy storage or travel. Durable for long time use and healthy for your beloved four-paw companions
Steps & Tips for Weaning Puppies: Step 1: Make a Gruel – Mix dog replacement milk into their dry puppy chow; Step 2: Offer the Gruel to the Puppies; Step 3: Reunite the Puppies With Their Mother; Step 4: Gradually Increase the Amount of Solid Food. The recommended time for weaning puppies is from around 3-4 weeks of age and can last until the pups are around 7-8 weeks

Best puppy feeder
We had a litter of 6 puppies who all could feed comfortably around this feeder. Very good quality and long lasting. More shallow which was perfect for the puppies. Held a sufficient amount of food to feed 6 puppies. Stainless steel sleek design made cleanup a breeze! Good value for the cost! Perfect fit! Stainless steel color was easy for puppies to mess while eating yet knew we had it clean after feedings!

Very Happy with These Huge SS Puppy Bowls
The SS bowls have excellent quality: big enough for my GSD puppies, easy to wash, and heavy, so it’s not too easy to move when puppies eat their food. Great product!

GREAT for 7 Puppies!!
Great for our 7 puppies. Really easy to clean, just throw it in the washing machine and dry it on no heat (fluff). Absolutely absorbs with no leakage. Pic is after just took pups out of pen. Will clean with vacuum hose. I have 2, the 2nd one (2nd pic) is outside the pen. I put disposable pads on it for easy clean up and throw away.

Slides across floor
Great bowl that evenly distributes food for puppies. Love it! The only suggested improvement would be to add some sort of groove or rubber stopper piece to help the dish stay in place during feeding. Currently it slides across the floor depending on which puppy is most fervently eating.

Itâs practical
My dogs had an accident litter of 8 puppies that she refused to watch after a while and this honestly came in handy. It was easy to clean and had space for each of the puppies as they grew. Also it was great quality and made feeding time easy with great food capacity.

Good for multiple puppies.
I bought these for a litter of puppies I was fostering. I had tried using just a low profile pan, but they kept walking through it and getting water soaked kibble everywhere. This helped with that (although I think a few of them just like standing in their food). It is also difficult to tip over and itâs a breeze to clean. I usually hand wash them but they are dishwasher safe if you need to sanitize/disinfect them. Would definitely purchase again.
