Replace the traditional HOB, canister filters — Gone are the days when you got to change the cartridges and filter media almost every week. The handy filters by SunGrow will do the same job economically and quickly. But please note that for it to function, you must connect the sponge filter to the air pump (not included).
Specially designed for betta, fry and, other small aquatic pets — Betta, fry, and other small fish will NEVER get stuck into the filter. These fish, especially betta, generally don’t like strong currents, they prefer calm and steady water. Our filters are designed to have a slow current to easily let betta, goldfish, discus, dwarf cichlids, guppies, and krill fish continue breeding and spawning comfortably.
Provide supplemental food for fry — The minor bubbles that are created by the 2 sponge filters create a nominal current, adding in bubbling water. This will encourage them to continue breeding and spawning comfortably. Also, the sponge filter makes a home for fish food supplementing their daily dose of diet or food intake.
Perfect for upto 10.5-gallon tank when used singly — It only requires an air pump and airline tubing (not included) to work. These create numerous minute bubbles for increased oxygen flow. Simply connect an air pump to the top center filter, then place it in your tank. Please note, the base of this noiseless filter is not weighted, so you may need to weigh it down. It is suitable for tanks up to 10.5 gallons. Our 2 filters work perfectly in larger tanks.
Easy to wash and reuse — This low-cost sponge filter can be used multiple times. Instead of tap water, use water from the tank to scrub it during a water change. Simply rinse and squeeze a few times, until you see the water run clear from the sponge.

Fish trap
The second time I had to get one of my Otos out of the tube on top of the filter, I threw the tube away. It’s large enough for the fish to get into but not get out. The filter itself is fine but that tube on top is a fish trap.

Although Betta don’t need this, it has helped keep the tank clean! Also gentle enough for my fish. I’ve had this for almost 2 months without issue. The bubbles aren’t very loud either, barely notice them. The filter is easy to clean and only have to once a month or so. Make sure to get an aerator because it doesn’t come with one. I purchased the Hygger aerator and is 100% compatible!edit: have successfully used this product and the Hygger aerator for almost a year now without a problem. This product is used in my 5 gallon tank.

This has been a life saver!
I got a betta fish for my class pet and our first fish got sucked up into the filter and died after a week of having it. I got a second fish and everyone told me that the betta doesn’t need a filter, but I felt more comfortable having one so I did some research and found this filter! It’s great because it bubbles and adds oxygen to my water and it keeps the tank somewhat clean. It has been a great purchase and I am so glad that I found this. It’s not going to keep the tank clean like a bigger filter, but it definitely helps. Thank you so much!

What does this do?
I thought this was a filter that I could hook up to an aerator to filter the water, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how the physics of that would work now that Iâve put it together. I didnât do anything to help with the water, it was just a weight, holding down the end of the aerator. Since the aerator came with a stone that fit better and was smaller, I switched back to that and got myself a real filter.
