Product Description

Every Hobbyist Knows How to Keep Their Small Fishes Comfortable and Calm dftghedgdftghedg

With a SunGrow Pack of 50 Mini Almond Leaves, You Can Sustain It

Shrimps, copepods, sparkling gouramis, cory cats, and oscars love it. Some of them use it as a feeding dish. A few hide behind it and take turns sleeping in the shade of the leaf. Some will make a hammock out of it and sleep on top of it. Watch your mystery snail wear it as a hat.

The water in our country ranges from 4.3 to 5.3, and these tropical or freshwater fish want a slightly neutral pH range (6.0 – 8.0). The low pH level can adversely affect them, whereas the high pH level might curl their fins. Even frequent fluctuations in pH levels cause lethargy and stress. The Ketapang leaves from SunGrow strengthen fish scales.

If you have breeding fish, Mini Catappa leaves also serve to provide fish with a secure place to anchor their eggs. These fish create bubble nests and use this floating leaf to create them. Since you are using real leaves, you don’t have to worry about artificial coloring that may be present in bottled form.

If you want to beautify your tank with Catappa leaves, it is advisable that you place low-light plants such as anubias, Java fern, and Amazon sword. Install driftwood so that the fish have their own privacy.

It is ready to use the moment you receive it in the mail. Just place a few leaves in your tank and only separate them when they disintegrate.

Give a peaceful home to your betta — When fish are given a homely ambiance, they tend to grow stronger. By creating ideal water conditions, we assure that they can prosper. The Indian Almond leaves are considered to have beneficial properties and increase fish appetite.
Have a breeding pet? Add catappa — The tropical fishes create bubble nests using a floating leaf to anchor their bubbles. So, if your tank has a breeding tetra, guppy, platies, molly, cichlid or shrimps, just add these leaves and see them anchoring their eggs over IAL. That is a sight to behold.
Benefits other fish and snails too — The tea water has many advantages for fishes like tetra, discus, and goldfish. It is good for rasboras and many dwarf cichlids too. Apart from that, snail owners can benefit from the magical leaves. Giving your fish this ambience calms them down. It imparts color to them and makes their scales firmer.
Smaller leaves, easier portion control — Each packet contains 50 leaves measuring around 2-inches high which is a great value for money. Smaller Catappa leaves make for easier portion control and a good way to slowly introduce your pet to a new surrounding especially for smaller fishes in smaller tanks.
Adds beauty to nano tanks, small bowls and jars — The Catappa leaves from SunGrow are unprocessed so you know what goes into your tank. They look pretty in a nano tank and add aesthetic beauty to your planted tank. You may even add these in individual betta jars or bowls.

Customers say

Customers find these catappa leaves effective for nano aquariums and appreciate how they turn the water a beautiful tea color, making their tanks look more natural. Moreover, they are particularly good for betta fish health, and customers consider them worth the price. However, the size receives mixed feedback, with some finding them perfect for smaller tanks while others say they’re smaller than expected. Additionally, the quality and tannin content also get mixed reviews – while some report the leaves are in good shape and release tannins, others mention they’re not real Indian Almond Leaves and show no tannins in the water.

The leaves will turn RED once soaked in water! Great product!
I have a 10 gallon tank. It is well filtered and heated. I condition the water and add beneficial bacteria. I do water changes every two weeks and nearly a full change each month. I also have four different species of plants. I have a female betta and one female danio ( I had 3 danios, but the female betta killed them. She has lived peacefully with the third danio for weeks in account of the danio swims super fast, so the betta gave up. Also they are both happy and healthy.) Good, now that we have a little backstory, let me tell you my experience with these almond leaves. When I first received the package, the leaves were lovely in shape and were not too fragile. They held their form well. I put seven leaves in the tank. The package said 10 leaves for 12 gallons but I have a 10 gallon. Immediately my curious betta examined the leaves. She continues to attempt to eat the stem, possibly because it resembles her feeding tongs. My betta was glass surfing because a plant was dying in my tank and had gone unnoticed.I purchased these leaves to hopefully reduce the stress of the ammonia spike that had happened previously. Immediately after adding the leafs I see a change in attitude and she is playful and relaxed. My danio doesn’t really care, but I know this meant a lot for my betta. At first, the leaves do not match the color of the leaves advertised. I wasn’t very worried about what the color would be when they arrived, I was more worried about the fragility of them considering they’re dried leaves coming in the mail. Like I said they arrived safely and have wonderful form. After 8 hours of them still floating at the top, I decided to flip them over. To which most of them sank within 30 seconds. The package label stated that I could use 20 to 30 leaves in a 12 gallon tank if a stronger color was desired. I was using these leaves for medicinal reasons. I had initially thought that adding too many leaves could be toxic. I will keep this in mind for the future. I took a final picture after 3 days of leaves in a ten gallon. I can see a light coloration in the water and the leaves now have a vibrant red-brown color. Great value for my money, and well worth the buy. I will be purchasing again in the future. It’s unfortunate that so many people were not patient enough with the product. Many reviews that I saw on here were about how the leaves didn’t match the color in the picture. Their loss!

    He absolutely loves it!
My male betta rocket absolutely loves these he hides in them, plays in them and sleeps in them. He went up to check them out inspecting them and really enjoys them no more looking to see where rocket is because he goes where ever they float. I am happy, he’s happy! Such a great product for bettas!

    Litte but work
They are little leaves but just the perfect size for a 5 Gallon. They don’t seem to produce any color or break down easily. But I put them in my Bettas floating log.

    Natural Habitat Enhancer
These Catappa leaves are a fantastic addition to my betta fish tank! They not only create a more natural environment but also provide essential benefits like tannins that help condition the water. My bettas seem much happier, and the leaves make a great hiding spot for them. Plus, the shrimp and guppies appreciate them too. With 50 leaves in the pack, it’s an excellent value for enhancing both aesthetics and fish health in the aquarium!

Didn’t work for me, but great customer service from Luffy Pets
EDIT (February 2018): After not being satisfied with this product, I thought I had just wasted my money. However, within days of posting my review, Luffy Pets reached out to me and made it very simple for me to contact their customer service. I was processed a full refund quickly and with limited fuss. Therefore, even though these were not right for me, I’ll purchase from Luffy Pets again (I bought some of those Mosimo balls and they’re great) since they stand behind a satisfaction guarantee (updated star rating from 1 to 3). Thank you for remedying the issue.Original review (January 2018):I bought these about a month ago and I feel very deceived. I have a 2.5 gallon, filtered, cycled, and heated betta tank and I wanted something to help make the environment more natural for my fish (I have live plants too). I thought these would provide the teak color from the tannins and give my fish an immune system boost. These did none of those things. Instead, I paid for a bunch of crinkled, broken leaves that provided no tannins (I varied the amount and added the number as instructed, still no color) and didn’t boost the health or color of my betta. In fact, my betta of 9 months died within a few weeks of starting to use these (I know this death could have been caused by any number of things, but these leaves certainly didn’t help).I think these are a crock. They certainly didn’t provide any of the benefits or outcomes I thought I was paying for and I want my money back. If you want Indian Almond leaves, particularly for a leaf litter or tea water color, look elsewhere.I attached a photo of the leaves and a paperclip to show scale.

I chose this particular product as it seemed quite good value for money and this is true. It is a nice big pack of leaves. I added 2 leaves to my betta hospital tank to assist with healing as I’ve had a bit of a tank nightmare and betta fin do seem to be healing however this is I’m combination with regular water changes, aquarium salt and bettafix. The leaves didn’t Float for a couple of days in the other tank but I boiled some for the hospital tank as per instructions and they sink straight away. I can see tannins in water quickly and you can control how many with how many leaves you add, I’ve only added a few so it’s not noticeable on first glance that there is a Tint to the water. So overall good value for money and do car good functionality and appearance.
