Tapo outdoor security camera
Purchased this with scan disk 512 GB micro SD card. I chose to run electrical power thru the attic to the front porch because I did not want to mess with batteries on this outdoor camera. Great wifi camera. Clear video day and night. Audio is a bit rough but that is not why I wanted it. All video is stored on a loop on the SD card. I have it set to run continuously and it holds one month of data. I do not use their cloud service. I don’t have to pay any subscription to run the camera like this. The phone app is simple to use and works well. The actual camera mounting was a breeze. I have used other simple security cameras and they were never as nice to work with as this one. I am thinking about getting a couple more. The app will monitor up to 36 cameras so adding them is easy to do.

This is a great camera , does so much and so affordable .
My husband and I been having troubles with some neighbors that like to drink and start trouble in the neighborhood.We needed a security camera just to make sure that they did not do anything to our property and also we thought it is good to have a security camera , just in case , you never know .So my husband looked through tons of cameras before he found this one .We love it .Has all the bells and whistles you will need and the picture and sound come in nice and clear .The night vision is amazing how clear and bright it comes out .We love all the features it has and amazed at the low price .We are so happy we got this camera and use it everyday and review all the videos when we get alerts to our phone .We are just so happy with this security camera and highly recommend this to anyone who wants a security camera to feel safer and to be able to monitor around your house even when you are not there .

Good cameras, especially for the price point.
These maintain a solid WiFi connection with decent, though not fantastic, image quality. They are also compatible with 3rd party NAS devices by IP, which is a definite plus. The addition of LED lights (which can be either manually or automatically triggered) enhances the image at night, but it’s still really meant for close-in use. Outside of 20-30 feet, the image is generally too blurry to be of any real use. During the day, that probably extends to around 45 feet.Although I use these with a Synology NAS (Surveillance Station), the Tapo app is not bad. It allows connecting to the cameras free of charge, including remotely, and configuring the various settings. Enabling cloud recording requires a subscription which is based on how many cameras you have. Compared to other cloud-based security subscriptions, it is reasonably priced.While construction overall seems sturdy, my only real complaints are that the adjustment screws cannot be tightened. This means the cameras are subject to moving around if the wind hits them when mounted outdoors. I also dislike that the mount has only one screw hole instead of two. The manufacturer pushes the magnetic mounting base, but that’s not always the best solution (particularly outdoors), so having 2 pre-drilled screw holes on the base, instead of just one, would be nice.

Excellent Product!
Image quality, low light sensitivity, ease of use, software and price are all outstanding!The Tapo Mac app is very good. I left the camera out in a recent winter storm and it worked just fine. Even the LED flood lights work very well. Installed an Amz Basics 128GB micro SD card and it formatted it without a hitch.This is not intended to be a web cam. It’s used on a local wifi network. I’m using it to see what goes on in the woods behind my house (deer and coyotes).

Easy set up, good quality
I was able to set this camera up in less than 15 minutes. I used the included sticky magnetic circle to mount it on a bookcase. I use it as a pet camera to keep an eye on my new puppy. The picture and sound quality are as expected. I am able to use the talk feature to chat at my pup too! The app is pretty straightforward and can easily be used with multiple cameras. I am not subscribing to the recording, but I do get motion alerts when my pup is up and about. I like the ability to put it in privacy mode when Iâm home so it is not longer transmitting.

Great little camera, smaller than a hockey puck.
Camera is fantastic. Great features. You can separately set zones for motion, people, pets, and vehicles. You can also set a privacy zone -an area that the camera will not record. The App is great too. If you look on TP-Link’s website you can find an instruction manual for using the App. I downloaded it to my desktop. The only thing I wish is when you set the areas for the different zones there are only four dots in the corners that you can manipulate. It would be much easier to set those zones if there were four more points for a total of eight. That way you could create a better variety of shapes to fit the area where you need the zone. Only having four points limits you and it becomes a matter of a little give and take to set your zones. You get all the features without having a subscription. Just put in a micro SD card. I bought a Sandisk High Endurance 128GB for around $15. The camera will loop and overwrite the micro sd card once its full. Even without a subscription you can get a live view on your phone from anywhere and the recordings are local to your SD card. If you need to download a video, your phone just needs to be connected to the same wifi network the camera is connected to. The downloaded video will appear in your phone’s camera gallery. I highly recommend this camera. For the price, you can’t go wrong. I bought a couple of Ring cameras, set them up, played with the app a little bit. Honestly, I prefer the Tapo cameras. I returned the Ring cameras I bought. By the way, the video and snapshots that you can record are fantastic. Very clear and easy to see details including the night vision videos.

I have been looking for a security camera for pointing outside my house mainly for monitoring if anyone coming to the house (for delivery etc), any vehicle going to my drive way or park outside my house, and any pets (or racoon) wondering outside my house especially at night. The C120 is exactly what I am looking for.I’ve been using the tapo C120 for just one month and very happy with this product and the tech support. It got all the features I’ve looking for among different brands and models, picture quality is quite good day and night, live and recorded video very smooth, small foot print to be mounted on the window frame, flexible camera arm for pointing at the exact angle easily, very considerate magetic base plate and double side tape for simple installation without the need for drilling nor screwing.It has about 5 sec pre-recording when the motion is detected so you won’t miss anything right at the beginning of the moment the motion detected, multiple detect zone which so flexible that not confined to just rectangular shape like to older model, detection of person, vehicle and pets work just great, night vision is very clear without the need of infra red or spot light (especially useful when I put the camera behind the window pointing outside the house), quite happy with the motion detection response which is very fast (both day and night time).More important, technical support is very good, I found the recorded video is jerky a couple of times at the beginning of the video, contacted tech support with sample video sent to them, unexpectedly, they responsed the next day and even got a firmware update for me within a week and the problem seems resolved now, of course I will monitor the issue for the next couple of weeks to make sure it is really fixed (which I think it is), also tech support (Ian Xu) responses very fast with good follow up which is another star added.
