Works pefectly for bottom dwellers and feeders. These “pucks” a little larger than a pencil eraser in diameter do not deteriorate instantly, and rather sink as whole tablet, stays put on the bed for enough time and then softens up either in your current, a passing fish’s wake, or by a bite here and there from interested parties. I keep a Reef and Predator tank as my main shows and have for 20 years. Howevrt I recently decided to go back to my roots for a FW live plant community nano desk aquarium for my home office. Cycled it in 3 days with available products I had in stock at home and tossed some corys in post 48 hours of filling for a cycle boost. They are thriving, and love this stuff. School of Cardinal Tetras day 2 and no body count as of yet. Still testing daily until 10 day mark and absolutely no harmful parameter spikes with this feed in play.A plus is that upon breaking up, it does go up into the water column for other fish to pick at over time release and my snails handle the vacuum detail pst feast. Fish Food for Bottom Feeders
I bought the tablets for my tetras, and they seem happy with it. It can get messy if not eaten up, so I suggest removing any uneaten parts. I like alternating between these tablets and flakes, as too many flakes can make the surface water oily. The nutritionally balanced diet is ideal for daily feeding, and the natural color enhancers help maintain vibrant coloration in the fish. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase.

TetraMin Tropical Tablets were recommended to me by a well-known aquarist from Britain, where the product is known as TabiMin.This is a really excellent tablet food and is an improvement on- or at least different enough- from other popular tablet foods (Hikari Sinking & Algae wafers; Wardley’s shrimp pellet; etc) to warrant a spot in any aquarium aficionado’s collection of prepared foods.What makes Tetra’s tablet unique from the aforementioned products is that, firstly, it has a very different ingredient list, with the primary ingredient being skim milk. Secondly, it has a higher protein content than most other tablets (43% min). And thirdly it doesn’t hold together as tightly as all the other bottom feeder foods I have tried. So yes, it is messier than Hikari foods, but the advantage is that it allows sub-dominant fish to access the broken off bits of food without overfeeding.The Tetra Tablet also isn’t just a bottom feeder food; if you crush it with your fingers (it crushes easily) it’s a great fry food as well.Having milk as the primary ingredient will help to diversify the protein sources within your fishes’ regular feeding. Some may balk at giving fish cow’s milk, but my most reliable reference book notes the author’s preference for milk-based foods over fish meal based foods. It also contains a lot of spirulina!The primary ingredients are: Dried skim milk, fish meal, dried yeast, ground brown rice, potato protein, spirulina, and shrimp meal.Nutritional analysis: Protein 43%; Fat 5%; Fiber 1.5%; Moisture 8%; Phosphorous 0.9%; Vitamin C 363 mg/kg.The fish seem to love it.
