My cichlids love it!
Happy to recommend this 5.65 oz cichlid flakes by TETRA. I like that it does not have artificial colors or flavors that might be harmful to my fish. Foil sealed. Screw top lid is easy to hold and open. I like that it does not cloud the water – although my fishes get to it way before it might get to. The jar I received has a best by date of May 2027. Competitively priced.

My fish love it
I have been buying flakes like this or similar for many years and my fish like it every time. I think it’s a pretty good quality obviously it taste good. I keep them fresh by keeping them in the freezer and only taking small portion and putting it in the smaller jar to feed the fish from. This way it lasts very long time and keeping its freshness. The only problem is that despite of its large size there is actually not that much food inside because the flakes are very fluffy and light. Buying pellets is definitely better value for money. But the flakes are better for my saltwater tank where I won the food to float longer on the surface and when it’s sinking it’s much more visible for the fish to go and get it. If using pallets they are smaller and sinking usually much faster therefore can get lost inside of the rockwork before the fish can eat it. That in turn can spoil water and cause additional problems in the saltwater aquarium.

Color changed
I have been feeding this to my cichlids for the past 4 years with excellent results. I have had great results with breeding using this food. This last batch that I purchased is not the same color as every other batch I have bought in the past 4 years and now Iâm half afraid to feed it to my fish. Itâs not outdated itâs that the product doesnât look the same. Now itâs a very pale orange and light green in color. Iâm wondering if itâs just a dye that they use or is something missing or is it old. Would you take a chance and feed it to your fish? Has anyone else noticed the difference in color besides me?

I use this TetraCichlid flakes for all of my Cichlid tanks. I use the Tetra pellets to give a variety of diet. My fish are healthy and have good color. I recommend this fish food especially for African Cichlids.
