Great product, great price. Easy setup and all the needed functionality in the free app.
Super simple to setup on my home wireless network.
Video quality is great.
Software is free and has all the pan-tilt, tracking, detection, privacy modes that one might need, and easy sharing access to other family members.
I am using 128gb memory cards for local storage.
Using the app, it is easy to look at the clips that were automatically saved upon motion detect, and it is easy to download any clips you need archived to protect from overwrite due to loop save mode. I am not using the paid cloud storage which seems a little pricey.
A lot of bang for buck.

Better than Ring… 2.4ghz setup.
Works great. I had some Samsung cameras but last month the app they use was taken down because it’s so old ..I think it was called SmartCam. I’m actually happy that’s happened, because these cameras have way better picture quality and are faster and easier to use. And it’s much better than Ring because there’s no subscription unless you need cloud. Other than that everything is free all of the features are free and it’s great!
For people saying that they won’t connect.. I had a problem with one of the cameras not connecting and it was simply because my routers uses both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and these cameras only use 2.4. So you have to find a way to make sure your router is using the 2.4 when you set these up. I’m on a Nest system and you can’t select between 2.4 or 5 so it took a couple of tries for it to register on the 2.4 frequency.

Perfect camera with one exception
I switched from the tp-link kasa version of these cameras to the tapo ones..they are basically the same camera but the tapo ones have rstp and onvif protocols so you can view them on other apps and hook them up to a nvr etc. ALSO, it has a couple of triggers (maybe just one) you can use in home assistant or ifttt.. AND, so far ive see use with google assistant/google home is limited to casting to chromecast (you can’t control the camera with the assistant… just say to cast it to a tv).
to use the tapo cameras you must use tHE tapo app. you can add kasa cameras to the tapo app but NOT tapo cameras to the kasa app!! the tapo app is almost the same as the kasa app. The tapo cameras have a few other features that show in the tapo app.
one downside is that the use a 9V adapter (not usb like the kasa cameras).. so you have to plan out how to hide the horrendous block (with the kasa ones i have usb outlets so its easier, and in hard to reach places i used usb light bulb sockets where I it converts a light socket into a usb charger and light bulb socket).. there are light bulb adapters that can give you a regular plug to plug the tapo camera into but then again the problem is the unsightly 9v block.
Anyway, you take the good with the bad. I guess for some reason these cameras need more juice to work.

the app is fine, you can do everything with it that you need to.. no subscription needed (of course it always asks you during setup or there is an annoying icon next to the standard icons (pan/tlit, talk, alarm, etc) about ‘tapocare’ that i would rather not see if I never plan to pay for it.

Love this camera
I did hours of research trying to find a budget friendly, quality camera, WITH NO SUBSCRIPTION. This camera is perfect! I use it to check in on my cats during the day since I leave at 4am and get home at 2pm. The night vision and day vision camera quality is surprisingly good (the camera doesn’t zoom in but you can zoom in on your screen on the app). The app is easy to use as well and I haven’t had any connectivity issues at all. My Wi-Fi is 5ghz but in the My Spectrum app it lets you switch it to 2.5ghz temporarily to set up the camera and it was super easy and worked well. I have been using the camera for a week now and I don’t regret buying it (except I should have got a 2 pack). It has a privacy mode to turn off the camera when I am home which is nice. The cable is probably close to 8 feet long. The speaker is decent and it has a mini SD card slot. I like that it also has an option for both motion detection and person detection. I don’t want notifications every time my cats run back and forth but I do want to know if there is someone in my house so I leave only the person detection on and it works 100% of the time (my mom goes over to visit them and it always sends notifications). I use it for security at night too with the alarm system you can set up. You can chose lights, siren, or both and you can set it for manual on or scheduled. Gives me an extra peace of mind on the nights I am home alone. 100% recommend this camera (save yourself the hours of research, I did it for you)!!!

Very easy setup and the app is easy to navigate. It has many different features that allows you to access the camera. You can pan the camera and zoom in. I love it. Best money I spent on technology and the quality overall is great.
