UltraCruz® Equine Bio-Absorb Supplement for Horses is designed to assist normal gastrointestinal function and help support the intestinal health of horses and foals. Montmorillonite Clay, a natural organomineral, helps maintain healthy intestinal microflora and gut pH, which can aid in supporting both proper digestion and bowel health. In addition to helping maintain gastrointestinal health, Montmorillonite Clay helps support the protective layers of the bowel and reduces occasional loose stools due to environmental stress or changes in the diet. Consult your veterinarian if symptoms do not improve after 7 (seven) days of use.

Soothes foal with non-specific diarrhea, like Bio-Sponge
Cleared up foal diarrhea in 2 doses 12 hrs apart. As all young horses do, I had a five-month-old foal get loose stool, but no fever and no depression, and so I started with the smallest recommended dose and 12 hours later followed it with a normal dose. I feel this product is very comparable to bio sponge which is simply a collection of food grade clays and absorbants to pull bacteria and toxins out of the digestive tract in a natural way. Be advised that using too much over too long a time can constipate your horse, so use it judiciously until you see the stool firm up to normal “horse apples” and then stop.

Really hard to get out of tube, impossible to get into horse’s mouth
It took all of my strength/body to push the paste out of these tubes. It was impossible to get it out while injecting into my horses mouth. Would not recommend.

Important note about using in newborn foals
Used for newborn foals when regular biosponge was on backorder. It works very well. An important note: because it is clay based, it will solid their poop up BUT! It will turn it grey! This was not mentioned in any literature I could find and cost me an emergency vet bill. After use was discontinued poop returned to normal (but diarrhea did come back). It works but do not be alarmed by grey poop in newborns.
