Healthy Spine & Disc (new name, same great Vetri Disc formula) is a unique supplement for dogs designed specifically to support connective tissues in the back and spine. It combines bovine tracheal cartilage with mineral sulfates, amino acids, vitamins, pepsin, and natural sources of silicon, which are all necessary for the support, maintenance, and health of connective tissue and spinal discs in dogs. Bovine tracheal cartilage is a natural source of chondroitin, which helps to support your dog’s own cartilage, tendons, and ligaments in the back and spine. This spine support supplement for dogs also includes Vitamin C to support collagen production and help support joints, Vitamin D and Calcium to help support bone health, and Taurine to help support muscle health and growth. Horsetail rush herb power is a beneficial anti-inflammatory ingredient to help soothe everyday aches and pains in dogs with back discomfort. VetriScience Healthy Spine & Disc is an easy add to any supplement routine: the easy-open capsules are convenient to hide in a pill-hiding treat, or to open and sprinkle the flavorless, odorless powder into your dog’s bowl. Dog breeds that are predisposed to back pain – including Dachshunds, Corgis, Frenchies, German Shepherds, and Spaniels – may benefit the most from this vet-formulated back supplement for spinal health. Our dog and cat supplements are certified by the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC), routinely undergo third-party testing, and contain no hidden ingredients, artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives.

Part of a treatment plan to help my senior greyhound dog move again.
I feed my small senior greyhound grain free food since I adopted her. I have her on supplements for her joints. All was well, Until this very scary situation that had happened in May of this year. It was the middle of May when the very strange symptoms happed in my little greyhound. I let my three dogs out in the backyard for a potty break. The weather had cleared after some really strong thunderstorm early that morning. One of my girls, a senior was her happy little self bouncing around in the backyard. Then suddenly I saw her shake and she moved to the side of the doorway step. She was stilling standing but NO use of her ALL four of her legs. I got the other two dogs in the house. I had to almost carry her into the house. She staggered and almost fell. Then had a hard time standing and walking. As soon as my husband got home from work we rushed her to the emergency vet. The staff at veterinarian hospital asked me happen. I explained to the veterinarian and staff that I have no clue what happened. The veterinarian had order x-rays that came back normal. It might be a back spasm. I asked about a seizure. At this point we really do not know what exactly what happen. They veterinarian gave her a prescription one of those new brand of NSAID. Its expensive but my little girl is almost 12 years old. I wanted something that would be a safer option for a senior greyhound. They did a blood panel before she was given a dose of NSAID. The veterinarian also recommended a special joint supplement. I have used different Vetri science products in the past. I saw that the Vetri Disc had similar ingredients that another brand veterinarian had recommended. My senior dog responded well to the NSAID treatment. Then I started her on the Verti Disc about a month ago. I add a capsule to her food twice a day (AM and PM). It has helped her get flexibility back in her spine. She is walking much better. She’s back to her bouncy happy self. I noticed yesterday she can quiver her back when I pet her. I have not needed to give her the NSAID. It has been a long journey. It has taken about 3 months of healing time. I was really scared my senior girl might not get better. Working with the veterinarian recommended the right supplement formula to help my senior dog. There are many different kinds of supplements for the joints, but in her case she needed a supplement for the spine. I am really happy with the Vetri Science product line.

I think it worked for my dog…
On November 7th, I woke up at 5:00 A.M. as usual and got my dog out of the bed. He is a 9.5 year old Cairn Terrier / Dachshund cross that we got from an animal shelter about 8 years ago. Even though his legs are short like a Dachshund, I swear they have built in springs and he could always jump 3.5 feet straight off the ground onto my bed or from a lesser height on to the couch. The problem is that he’s always jumped OFF the bed (3.5 feet) for years even though he has stairs (he doesn’t use them). I’d always commented to my wife that he would probably end up with joint problems one day. What I didn’t realize was that he would end up paralyzed from a back injury. On November 7th, I got a quick (and traumatic) crash course in dog paralysis from disc problems in the back. As I said, I got him out of the bed. That morning, he did not jump from bed to the floor. I picked him up and sent him outside with his brother (a 10 year old Yorkie / Schnauzer shelter rescue) and he walked outside fine under his own power. When I went to let him in, he was dragging both back legs and couldn’t move them at all. I rushed him to the vet who gave me the bad news. His two options were a $5,000-$6,000 back surgery with no guaranteed results, or crate rest and laser treatments. Given his age and the no guarantee of results, we opted for the less invasive treatment. Itâs important to know that even fully paralyzed, he never lost deep feeling in his paws (very important!). He stayed at the vet until Friday. I found these pills quite by accident while doing research on dog back injuries. I read the reviews and decided to order them for gigglesâ¦if I got any benefit from them it would be an added bonus. He came home Friday, and the pills arrived on Sunday. I began giving them to him twice a day. Put a dab of peanut butter on the pill and he scarves it right down. After a week, his tail started to wag again (he couldnât even move it.) After two weeks, he started moving one leg, and after three weeks, the other leg. At 4 weeks, he began walking again (very slowly and wobbly but walking on his own.) Now at 6 weeks, heâs running (if we donât catch him in time) and has managed to jump on and off the couch again when we werenât watching. Heâs still a little wobbly, especially in his right leg and the vet says he may reach a plateau in his healing and recovery. Iâm not sure if itâs the crate rest, the laser treatments (we did about 5) or the Vetri-Science. Iâm willing to say that the Vetri-Science at least partly contributed some to his recovery. Even if he never returns 100% back to where he was pre-injury, Iâll take it! Heâs mobile and can go outside and use the bathroom by himself. He gets around fine. We still crate him at night and when weâre gone. If weâre home, but not watching him, he gets crated. I canât trust him not to jump up and down and heâs gotten his jumping skills back! Give the Vetri-Science a try! For this price, you canât go wrong! (Important Note: We were originally giving it to him with wet dog food by sprinkling it on top of the food. Not sure if it was the food, the medicine, or both, but after two weeks we went through a 4 day period of diarrhea that was awful. He’s always eaten dry food since we’ve had him, so we think the wet food was TOO rich for him. We started giving him the pill with peanut butter on it and he scarves it right down. He eats his dry food and takes the pill 2x daily and no more diarrhea since we cut out the wet food.)

Has made a big difference for my dog (German Shepherd) with IVDD
Has made a huge difference in my dog’s movement and enthusiam after starting with just one cap a day. There have been no other changes in her diet or supplements that would explain this change, other than the Vetri-disc supplementation. She is much more animated and clearly feels better. The “hunching” of her back seems to be better too. Have told her rehab vet about it too.

My spaniel dog had ruptured discs and went paralysed in back legs and now has IVDD. He had the operation and took 6 weeks to walk again. Heâs been on this for around a month now, together with Yumove. He does seem to be getting stronger. I will keep using this, just in case it is this that is helping.UPDATE AFTER 2 YEARS OF USE: My boy has become so much stronger and I think these really do help. I switched from Yumove to Glycoflex 3, so now use both VetriDisc and Glycoflex 3 and they really do help him stay strong and enjoy life.

I have been given this supplement to my 15 yrs old dog who is suffering from joint pain. This supplement was recommended by dogs volunteers that they found it works very well to many dogs.We did tried one bottle and now reorder the second bottle.

We have been able to take our dog off of her vet prescribed pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs – mind you she was never on them long at all – just over a week and I started Vetri-disc along with another supplement (GlucosaPet), started making food for her and got her a good bed.Now it’s been 3 weeks I think and she hops on and off the couch and last night even initiated play with her squid. She is only 5 and has been diagnosed with Stage 1 disk deterioration with 3 calcified discs at the base of her spine. The capsules are easy to open and I just add the powder to her food.

When I found out my 4 year old frenchy had IVDD I immediate went online and after reading many reviews found these wonderful supplements, so happy I did! She’s been on them for 6 months and we have not have any episodes, she has her energy back and engages in play again. Started noticing a difference after about 6-8 weeks. These are a staple for our girl and we always make sure we have full stock at all times! Waffles is a happy girl again 🙂
