Nice Big, Well-Sealed, Bag; the Birds Seem to Like It
There’s not much to say about a product that is what it says it is, and does what it says it does … the birds all seem to like it … we have five or six or eight (I’ve forgotten) seed socks hanging around and it takes about 2-3 days for the little birds to empty the bags. Some of the seeds fall on the ground when the little birds are pulling out their snacks from the seed socks, but then the Mourning Doves and Quail come along and eat what fell on the ground.Interestingly enough, some people worry about the seeds sprouting. Well, we’ve never had one sprout in the five years we’ve been using this brand of seed. One possible nit-pick, however, the bag has a closure, like a zip-lock-bag. And, that is nice, but it’s really hard to close. So, it would be nice of the manufacturer would start using that new-ish style Velcroix style closure.P. S. I only gave it a ‘4’ on price, because, while it’s a relatively good price, it is still a lot, and a LOT more than a year ago (i.e. not just ‘8%’)

Very FRESH nyjer thistle ! Our Birds LOVE it
I was going to wait to write a review until I could put up a photo (I love reviews with photos) but I just couldn’t wait – and there are tons of American Goldfinches and Pine Siskens on my feedersBuying seed online is always nerve wracking- you never know what you’re gonna get, and this is especially true with nyjer thistle seed because it dries out easily and if it’s stale, birds won’t eat it. If you can actually see the seed in the bag you’re purchasing, it’ll appear brownish and dry if it’s old. So yeah, buying a $35 lb bag of bird seed sight-unseen is always a crap shootFirst i must mention that this bag is huge!( I’m used to the 5 lb size). This is a LOT of seed. Also, I did see this same bag in our local store and it was $15 more.Oh man I was so happy when I opened the bag. (don’t judge me! I’m an old lady – we like birds – haha) These Seeds are deep black and shiny – perfect!I have 10 different kinds of bird feeders up, 3 of which are hulled sunflower seed – a crowd favorite) but after filling my thistle feeders up I’ve noticed the finches are actually often all over these instead of the sunflower. This is a first.I highly recommend this seed from this seller. I couldn’t be more pleased. (Fyi, I bought this seed in May 2022. )

    The gold finches love it
Attracts many gold finches. I use sock feeders and the finches are all over this. They are so fun to watch. The only problem is the hulls and some seeds drop onto the ground so there is some clean up maintenance.

Good price, fresh, finches love it!
I have a flock of finches and doves that visit my feeders. The large bags of nyjer seed have to be fresh or they won’t touch it. A waste of money! This product passed the test and the birds gave it a 5 star rating. Always check to see how many bags of the seed are purchased monthly. The more bags bought means the seed is more likely fresh.
