Keeps squirrels away!
I have been purchasing the sizzle bird food for at least 4 years. I love that it keeps the squirrels away from my feeder. They might try it once, but they do not like the hot food, but it doesn’t bother the birds and I have a ton of them (like the squirrels). Just wish the price hadn’t got so out of hand like everything else. Used to purchase for $15.00.

The Best in 40 years!
This is, without question, the best birdseed I have ever used in 35 years of feeding wild birds. In the last two years, had a problem with rats (to my horror!) and though my feeder spins off squirrels, they were taking over my yard and were destroying my garden. I thought I’d have to give up feeding the birds because I could no long tolerate the rodents it attracted — and I did for a while, but seeing so little life in my garden depressed me and I wanted to continue to support wild bird life that is under duress from habitat loss and global warming. So…I tried Wild Delight Sizzle and Seed as a last attempt and with very low expectations. To my joy and astonishment, it worked! Only one squirrel appeared to have a palate for the spicy stuff and hung around all winter. But he or she was the last hold-out. Otherwise, the rodents have abandoned my yard. Not only that, this seed attracts a myriad of bird species. Red-bellied and Hairy woodpeckers, gold finches, cardinals and bluejays, and for the. first time ever bluebirds! I couldn’t believe my eyes! So don’t hesitate. This seed is amazing!

Distasteful to mammals
Both squirrels and our strange seed-eating dog leave this alone. Birds love it, and as a bonus, there’s a crop of milo below the feeder almost ready for them to harvest.

This really does keep the deer and squirrels away. Unfortunately it has become too expensive for me to make a repeat purchase. Hoping the price will come down!

Birds love it and most of the squirrels don’t
Initially this worked like a charm and the squirrels were defeated. The bird activity was not inhibited one bit by the “heat”. However, I now have a squirrel whose taste buds have acclimated in the past few months and I sure can tell when he’s been at the bird feeder. Initially, the extra cost was offset by the seed lasting a lot longer, but my lousy, one squirrel is eating into the savings!

Birds LOVE this but not all squirrels avoid it.
I found this brand considerably less expensive compared to similar competing brands and the birds love this every bit as much as the more expensive brand I used to use. I was weary of the squirrels eating all the regular standard bird seed I used to put out not to mention the raccoon that would climb the poles with the feeders to get at the seed. Unfortunately, I have recently discovered that one of the squirrels seems to have no trouble eating this blend and I am again having to regularly chase him away. Overall, this does seem to work reasonably well, I had to deduct one star since at least one squirrel is eating this like crazy so I will end up going back to the original higher priced blend I used previously. Its a decent product, but not the best.
