Would buy for gifts
My children got this for Christmas. We had so many shrimp hatch. It was a great learning experience about the life cycle and how to take care of living creatures.

Fun Gift!
Purchased as a birthday gift for my science loving 6 year old. It came with really good instructions, links to a podcast and great photos. It took a while for them to hatch, but it was fun to watch. Included everything we needed but water!

Study up before purchase
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing because o really did not want to crush the soul of my six year old and have all of these die instantly (like they did) hereâs the thing with sea monkeys (brine shrimp) they are very fragile! We bought these during winter and live where it gets chilly, here are some things I learned.Sea monkeys need oxygen , producing bubbles with the wand they provide helps but probably isnât enough, you can purchase a mini oxygen pump for $10 which I recommend especially when you feed them. I also recommend feeding 1/4 scoop size instead of a full scoop. All of our monkeys died after feeding. What likely happened is they were fed too much, the brewers yeast provided will suck up oxygen from the tank and overeating also kills the shrimp. Iâll be keeping them next to a warm light at night to keep the temp warmer during winter as well. We are doing the other half of the eggs now, hope this info helps! There are so many online resources to check out before starting your kit. Good luck !

Shrimp did not hatch, obviously DOA
Unfortunately, the poor shrimp eggs did not hatch. I have not an amateur and am experienced with hatching these little eggs, and followed the instructions to the letter, in hopes to raise them before the New Year for my grandson to enjoy. The shrimp clearly were too old, or stored inefficiently, and did not hatch. This is not an item I can of course replace because I threw out the product, but that is the requirement to get a new item (which I don’t want) or a refund (which I do). I would avoid this product.

My 9 year old loves it!
I got this for my son for Christmas and we set it up the next day. It was simple to follow instructions. We left it alone for a few days then added a little food. A few days later we counted about 5 hatched eggs. I kind of thought that would be it. I looked about a week later and now there are a ton! So definitely give it some time. We keep this in my sonâs room where thereâs some sun, but not much.

Read review.
This is great Iâve had them before years ago and LOVED THEM, Cool creatures, great first pet for someone looking for something simple, however this one they keep dying and Iâve done everything the instructions say to do I donât know where Iâm going wrong but theyâve died 3x and at this point I donât know what to do. But it u manage to get this and they live âonly a few will live and itâll get bigger to where u can see it betterâ they are extremely cool to watch. My review is coming based on all of them dying each time I tried and no have no clue why.
