Customers say

Customers find the terrarium easy to assemble and appreciate its design, noting it looks exactly like the picture and is perfect for jumping spiders. The enclosure is functional and customers consider it good value for money, being half the cost of similar products. However, the sturdiness and size receive mixed feedback – while some say it’s built well, others report it breaking immediately, and while it’s large enough for Chinese mantises, some find it too small for their needs. Moreover, the sphericalness aspect is mixed, with some saying it’s perfect for jumping spiders while others warn it’s not suitable. Additionally, the gap size is a concern, with customers noting gaps along both sides and near the hinges.

Perfect Home for My Jumping Spider

The terrarium comes apart effortlessly, allowing me to reach every corner without any hassle. Maintaining a clean environment for my spider is crucial, and this terrarium makes that task incredibly simple and efficient.Ventilation:The ventilation is excellent, ensuring that there is always fresh air circulating inside the enclosure. This is essential for the health and well-being of my spider, and it gives me peace of mind knowing that the habitat is well-ventilated.Durability:The materials used in this terrarium are high-quality and durable. Nice habitat for our jumping spiders.
Cost effective! Clear! Functional as they are easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. Easy to open and close with a lock. Stackable! (I just realized that’s what the cutout on the front bottom is for!) Sturdy which is necessary since these get moved around multiple times a day. No scratches yet despite many people handling and moving.Only issue thus far is that one is the rubber bands used to secure the sides (etc) broke immediately when we used it. This wasn’t a problem because there were a few extra in the package, and you really don’t need to secure all 13 places. Habitat will stay together fine with a few missing. You can also just use a regular rubber band or hair tie in its place.

Great for my isopod breeder tank
I got this Small Terrestrial habitat to house my Dairy Cow Isopods, using it as a breeder tank.It feels a lot more fragile than I expected, particularly the lock and I have a strong feeling I will break the lock rather quickly. Luckily I’m handy and will come up with a lock after it breaks, even if it’s just a zip tie so I’m not worried, just a little disappointed as I bought this specifically for the locking feature.I’m terrible at putting things together but I did and fairly quickly after a couple failed attempts. The directions were ok, but I need more specific instructions or I struggle.I wish I had put the prepped/moistened substrate in the bottom piece FIRST, before I put it together, because the static was unreal and some of the dry substrate and sphagnum moss flew against and stuck to the new, pretty, clear acrylic and I had to clean it, which was a pain. The substrate and moss are still wet 24 hours later and only the bottom piece shows humidity on the acrylic so I think it has good ventilation while still able to maintain some humidity.**Update**Just a few days after setup, I opened it to remove the molding food to see I have isopod babies already! This is very exciting since I’ve tried breeding others before but never in a small breeding tank. I’ve had some in a 10gal for over a year and still zero babies, but less than a week in this and I have babies! I think they’re happy in there.

    Nice home for Jumping Spider
I really like this Zilla Mirco Habitat. Still don’t even know how I have a baby jumping Spider??? I Hate ALL SPIDERS and I am terrified of them!! I somehow grew to want one after watching tons of videos on them after finding one in my car and killing it. My husband thinks they are sooooo cute. My little 1 and 6 yr old watch Lucas the Spider and even that dam cartoon spider freaks me out. Anyways…… I now have my very own tiny baby jumping spider. I even went to Petsmart and bought it Fruit flies. I had it in a small glass bowl at first and then I heard about this little enclosure on YouTube and I had to get it for my little baby spider. I don’t know if the spider is a girl or boy. I think it likes it’s home though. It was Crawling all around at the top and finally made a cozy little web between the yellow flower. Hasnt came out yet and has only ate once. I think this enclosure is really nice and I enjoy that it’s clear so you can see your spider or whatever you choose to put in it. When you first get it there’s a film on all of the pieces and you can’t really tell that it can be peeled off, but YES it does come off. I really like the simple lock ontop as well. I didn’t know how to open it at first until my husband showed me how. The bottom piece of the enclosure looks like a little pull out drawer but it’s not. Even looks like it’s open in pictures but it’s not. Everything is held together by thick little bands. Might not sound sturdy but it is. The plastic is nice too in my opinion. I’m very happy with my purchase and for $20 I think it’s worth it. Once again I love it! I hope my baby jumping spider does too.

Although mine was broken I was offered refund or replacement, to which I explained that I love my product and my critter wont escape I worked with someone for a discount so I’m very happy with the customer service. The item its self is also amazing. Its huge but still nice and small for my invertebrate, this large size can probably even hold a small frog for its juvenile stage. The lock is secure and it has cross ventilation on the front/back. I love that it’s made of plastic so not only will I not break it in a risky location but its light and can sit on a shelf of sorts. I love the hands on part of building it myself. I plan on buying more of these which is awesome because they are also stackable. And they seem pretty sturdy but I wouldnt stack then too high incase the bottom ones do collapse. 10/10 love these zilla micro habitats!

Despite some of the negative reviews this is a great terrarium for a starter. We’re using it for a young praying mantis and is certainly serving its purpose. It wouldn’t take a battering but it doesn’t need to

It’s not sturdy enough and pay attention to the gaps between panels – my spider got out. I’d return it If I hadn’t created a full setup there.

You and I both know how hard it is to find something aesthetically pleasing, practical, effective, reasonably priced, and safe all in one. This is it. I’ve done extensive research about acrylic enclosures and where to find them in Canada. For the amount of effort it takes to find something that will keep your animal safe and happy this price is more than acceptable. Standardized acrylic boxes only work to a degree and they require a lot of DIY tools. The only work I did to this enclosure was creating a seal between the bottom and side walls using aquarium silicone. My tarantulas can be housed in these from the moment they are a tiny sling – I have no fear of their escape due to the sizing of the ventilation slits. If I rehouse a 1/2”-3/4” sling in here I would simply cover the ventilation slits with tape and use a needle to poke numerous inescapable holes. Also the set up isn’t that complicated. Get this enclosure, you won’t regret it. I have four varieties of the Microhabitats and I’ve never been disappointed.
