Sturdy With Great Detail!
This is a really neat item to accent your pet’s cage. It’s very sturdy and has a good amount of weight to it, so it doesn’t slide unless there’s a little bit of effort involved. Depending on the size of your pet, it can easily become a cave for them to hide or sleep in. And it looks so cool!I really like the detail and how realistic the teeth look. It also has painted accents that will become fluorescent if used with a black light. The main benefit of this is that it can gauge whether or not your pet is getting enough UV light for optimal health. There is an indicator on the bottom of the skull, and it will change colors based on how much UV is present. It’s a great way to make sure your pet is getting what it needs for a long healthy life while giving it some unique decor to enjoy.

Doesn’t Change Unless Directly Under UVB Bulb
I ordered this for my bearded dragons enclosure to help ensure he gets the correct uvb intake. Well I have had the feeding dish out for over 2 hours now and the “color changing” area hasn’t changed one bit. I do not believe that brand new bulbs in his enclosure are providing little to no uvb – 3 brand new (week old) ubv bulbs, 2 new (2 weeks old) day halogen bulbs, one night halogen bulb (2 weeks old).The only time it changes color at all is if I hold it directly under the uvb bulbs – then I see the color change.I love the look of it. It is about the length of my forearm. It seems pretty sturdy and well made. other than the little feeding cup (feeding cup is very cheap).If it changed color from 13in away from the bulb I would absolutely give it a 5â .That’s the distance between the dish on this and his uvb bulbs.

Our Uromastyx loves his new ‘rock.’
The Zilla Crocodile Cave is highly detailed and would be a unique addition to most terrariums. Our Uromastyx is too large for the cave portion but enjoys crawling and resting over the crocodile’s head. I did not feel any sharp areas on the cave we received, as that was the first thing I checked for.Beyond the crocodile cave being a cool-looking decor piece, it also has the ability to check your UV light. The rapid sense indicator located underneath can check the strength of your UV light in 30 seconds. The rapid sense indicator worked well and is an ingenious feature to me. By using this feature, we were able to determine our bulb needs replacing. The cave also features black light reactive accents, but I was not able to test this feature.

This crocodile head decoration is soooo cool. My Tarantula has already made a home inside it. It glows under his nighttime light. Itâs really made for reptiles, to keep track of the amount of UV light they get, but my tarantula loves it. Itâs perfect. It does not have sharp edges like another review stated. Nothing on it will hurt your pets. I really like it!

Unique decor
I don’t build terrariums or expecting to use this for one in the future. I just got it ’cause I thought it was a neat looking decor that I could display somewhere. So with that said, I won’t have needs for any of the tech designed in this skull as far as UV and all that jazz go. I was hoping it was a full skull with top and bottom jaws but this is only the top. The piece is well made and sturdy and not easily damaged. Not much else to say about it otherwise.

One of the major reasons I bought this was because I thought that it was suplosed to tell if there was adequate UVA/UVB but it doesn’t. At forat I thought my bulbs were defective but then I brought it outside in the daytime and it didn’t work out there either.
