Police Search for Driver After Dog Walker Injured in California Hit-and-Run
Authorities in Westminster, California, are searching for the driver of an SUV involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a woman seriously injured early Monday morning. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. when the vehicle reportedly ran a stop sign and struck the victim, who was out walking dogs at the time.
According to police, the woman suffered significant injuries to her face and was rushed to the hospital. She is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Fortunately, the dogs she was walking were not struck by the vehicle and were safely recovered at the scene.
Witnesses described the SUV as speeding through the intersection before fleeing without stopping to render aid. Investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and residences in hopes of identifying the suspect vehicle and driver.

The Westminster Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may have seen the vehicle in the area before or after the collision, or who have access to dashcam footage that could help with the investigation.
Hit-and-run cases like this remain a serious concern in California, where pedestrian safety has been an ongoing challenge. Law enforcement officials stress that leaving the scene of an accident is a felony, especially when it involves serious injury.
For now, the focus remains on the victim’s recovery and finding the person responsible. Police say the community’s help is crucial, and even the smallest lead could make a difference in bringing justice to the injured woman and ensuring accountability.
